Residential Wind Power

Wind Energy from
Home Wind Turbines

Using residential wind power is a way to capture wind energy for your home. Home wind turbines have made real advances, and a residential wind turbine can be a very efficient way to use renewable energy.

Wind generators and home wind turbines can be more expensive than solar panels, but they are also more efficient than solar panels.

If you are serious about becoming energy self-sufficient, consider a wind powered generator or turbine to produce electricity for your home.

And, if you are building a home, make sure you include ways to save energy, and perhaps, to generate your own residential energy.

Renewable Energy from the Wind
Home Wind Power

Most of us are familiar with windmills. Our great grandfathers used windmills to generate electricity on their farms, and the Amish of Pennsylvania and Ohio still use windmills to pump water.

My mother tells stories of when she was a young girl—in the 1920s. Her family used a windmill to generate electricity. And, because of the uncertain wind power generated, windy days instantly became ironing days--to take advantage of the surge of electricity that was generated!

In the last few years, wind power generators and turbines have come a long way. Today’s wind generators and turbines are much more efficient.

You will find that, if you live in a windy area where you have frequent breezes, a small wind turbine could be your best residential wind power source.
